Water is important for our bodies to function well. Mayo Clinic advices that “even mild dehydration can drain your energy and make you tired.” I’ve been working on “spicing up” my water. Adding cucumbers to my H20 make me feel like I’m at a spa, on other days bits of ginger definitely perk it up, and lemon water is always tasty. This week, I bought Chocolate Mint at a farmer’s market and it made me very happy. What are you using to make your water more exciting?
“Water is your body’s principal chemical component and makes up about 60 percent of your body weight. Every system in your body depends on water. For example, water flushes toxins out of vital organs, carries nutrients to your cells, and provides a moist environment for ear, nose and throat tissues. Lack of water can lead to dehydration, a condition that occurs when you don’t have enough water in your body to carry out normal functions.” — Mayo Clinic
“Drinking Water Helps Maintain the Balance of Body Fluids. Your body is composed of about 60% water. The functions of these bodily fluids include digestion, absorption, circulation, creation of saliva, transportation of nutrients, and maintenance of body temperature” –WebMD
“Water is needed by all the cells and organs in the body in order for them to function properly. It is also used to lubricate the joints, protect the spinal cord and other sensitive tissues, regulate body temperature and assist the passage of food through the intestines.” — MedicalNewsToday.com
